21 Jun Chinese Trade Mark Official Fees Reduced by 50% from 1st April 2017
The Chinese Trade Marks Office announced a 50% reduction in its official fees with effect from 1st April 2017.
This is good news for owners of Chinese trade mark applications/registrations and for brand owners wishing to protect their trade mark rights in China.
It is however anticipated that the significant reduction in the Chinese trade mark official fees will encourage an increase of trade mark applications by trade mark squatters in China. Therefore, brand owners are also advised to take advantage of the reduced official fees and secure a defensive filing strategy.
